My Work

Gollum

I made my "Gollum" sculpture using the ecourche technique by building the skeleton first, then layering the muscles and skin over top. In my class we were watching the Load of the Rings special features and I decided to make my study into my version of Gollum. I liked the versions of Gollum in the Hobbit and the Lord of the Rings cartoons so my sculpt reflects more of that kind of gnarly/elfin look. I hoping to getting around to casting this guy in bronze this year.

Fairy Dragon

This is a small sculpture of a Fairy Dragon I did for fun and gave to my dad who liked all dragons.

Skull Ring

Here's a ring I did before my jewelry apprenticeship. It is anatomically correct and the mandible is hinged.

Ronaldinho

When I first started at Action Pants INC we had the privilege of having Noel Baker do a sculpting workshop with us. Noel was the lead sculptor on Tim Burton’s Copse Bride and the Brisk Iced Tea commercials among other projects and was nice enough to come over from Manchester England and give us some tips and tricks for doing caricatures. I want to work on the Brazilian soccer player Rolandinho who has this crazy face. We didn’t have a lot of time to get this done since Noel’s time here was limited so I ended up doing a quick sculpt in plasticine.
